Dubai Police issue fresh warning over fake visa ads targeting job seekers
Anti-Fraud Centre highlights growing online deception
DUBAI – Police in Dubai have warned residents against fraudulent advertisements claiming to offer work, residency or visit visas in exchange for money.
The warning comes as fake promotions continue to circulate across social media platforms and messaging apps.
Authorities said scammers often misuse the names of unlicensed companies or offices, while some even impersonate official entities to deceive victims and steal their money.
'Be Aware of Fraud'
The warning was issued by the Anti-Fraud Centre at Dubai Police's General Department of Criminal Investigation as part of its ongoing 'Be Aware of Fraud' awareness campaign. The centre urged people to complete all visa-related transactions only through the competent authorities or legally approved offices, and to avoid dealing with intermediaries or untrusted parties.

Officials stressed that verifying the authenticity of visa offers and procedures through official channels is essential to preventing fraud. They said awareness and confirming the legitimacy of a service provider remain the first line of defence against financial scams.
Dubai Police also cautioned the public against believing false promises related to visa approvals or employment opportunities offered through illegal means. Anyone who encounters a fraud attempt or becomes a victim has been urged to report it immediately through the Dubai Police smart app, the dedicated eCrime platform for cybercrime reports, or by calling 901.
